I got my first pair of Dr. Martens back in the 5th grade. Oxford mary-janes... black and red, my first "designer" purchase I begged my mom to splurge on for me. They were my first and only pair, although throughly loved I don't really know why I never ended up getting another pair. Well now, freshly graduated from college I am ready to splurge on another pair. Impulsive purchase yes, but equally excited to get some serious wear out of my newly ordered 14 eye mid calve, white patent boots. Incase you aren't as familiar with my latest summer obsession i'll provide you with a little eye candy which pushed me over the edge...

Lets bust out the rompers and cut off shorts and do what we shouldn't and wear boots in the summertime.

Since Yves Saint Laurent's Fall/Winter 2008 collection I have been OBSESSIVE over the Trib Boots short and tall... Everyone started wearing the pump version which made me want the boot style more and more... only seeing it being worn by fashion idols and on the streets of fashion week. I would stalk ebay daily trying to find the short boot at a reasonable "college student" ...alas no luck.

Until recently I was doing my rounds on ebay, and came across the Bebe Tyra ankle boots... AMAZING. Probably the best inspired pair of shoes I have ever seen. I am usually not into blatant copies of designer pieces but this one was just to good to pass up. With my package on its way, as I frantically keep checking my tracking number... I will post pictures when they arrive. Stay tuned...

First of all I just wanted to apologize for being away for so long. Last week I was sick with a nasty bug and so far this week I have been up to my eyeballs in midterms and projects for classes... but alas 32 days left till graduation, I think I can make it your just going to have to bear it all with me.

In regards to Milan fashion week, I love a lot of it but was slightly disappointed with some hard hitters such as Prada. Although a very wearable collection, its only good in specific pieces and the overall collection seemed a bit dull for my taste especially after such a stunning collection for Spring/Summer 2010. My favorite collection of Milan would have to be the Versace show. A lot of different designers are using black as always for Fall/Winter, but I thought Versace was the perfect amount. It has the ideal staples of winter such as the long jewel tone coat, but with some favorites such as the brown and black moto style leather pants for the ultimate bond girl.

Dear Donnatella, if your reading... Ill take on of the yellow leather jackets, and the feather dress.

Christopher Kane was the highlight of London Fashion Week for me. Something completely different than he has ever done before, yet reinvented himself with the use of patent leather and embroidery. What I wouldn't do for that embroidered leather jacket and the patent leather knee length pumps...

Other shows to look out for would include:

Matthew Williamson -(The perfect cocktail dress, beautiful velvets)

One trend that I have seen numerous times over the past few spring seasons, is the use of translucent accessories. Although it isn't the most discreet form of accessory, it is a funky touch to a modern classic. My personal favorite reason for loving these accessories, is they are usually very reasonably priced, all the way from the highest priced designers, but you can find get affordable pieces in everyday stores. Now if only I could get ahold of #12...

3.1 Phillip Lim was by far my favorite collection of NYFW. I cant even explain how each outfit in this collection belongs in my closet. Besides the rich cool pallet, every article of clothing is wearable in everyday life. Tight fitted clothing has always been and will always be a trend, but the fact that loose fitting, draping pieces can be sexy to, which is a huge comfort in my mind also with my body. In addition, the shoes made by Christian Louboutin, were also just as lust worthy as the clothing they were holding up.

Change has been in order this last week, I finished all my summer classes and did very well if I might add. And with my shopping addiction that I have been trying to slow down for Vegas, it hasn't really been happening. I leave in less than a week and I don't have nearly enough saved up for this VIVA LAS VEGAS shopping spree... but I guess that just means my Visa will have to keep up with me... or maybe Ill just stay at the pool a little longer to work on my none existent tan... yeah... maybe I will. But I know Ive been such a slacker ALL July pretty much, but im totally working on it. I have no excuse now that summer semester is over. But I wont lie... im getting pretty excited, looking for internships, starting new classes, new degree (fashion merchandising), and just finishing up my Degree + Minor this next year is pretty exciting. I am just trying to decide where I want to move... The Hills, even though completely staged has got me wanted to move to LA... naturally because its the 2nd largest fashion capital in the US but thats besides the point. NYC... ACROSS the nation.. so I am pretty much a skeptic but thats where a lot of opportunity happens for the job I want to go into. Next is Toronto, CA - Also PRETTY MUCH across the nation, and a tad north - But pretty much my whole family lives there so I wont be alone. Last but not lease is Las Vegas Nevada, Its pretty much blowing up in fashion which is kind of surprising, but I think living in Sin City would be a blast.. at least for a year.

Besides my rant about my future and moving I did a little permanent change...

Yeah I got a little crazy, felt a little punk rock and completely HATED bangs and wanted to be rid of them completely. Dont worry center part is going to be all the rage, don't you worry... my hair just needs to grow a few inches oh yeah... and work on that tan... So thoughts?

Oh and in my casual Friday outfit... you will see peeking from under my boot cut jeans some fabulous jelly looking shoes. Those shoes are these:

THEY WERE A STEAL, reg $19.50 which is pretty much a steal to begin with - they rang up at a total of $4.49. They come in an adorable gold color as well. Now thats a bargain Vegas will have to understand.

Orange-you-glad I wrote this post, well you might not be but I am quite excited. This week's Look of the week had my addiction ready to share with the world. My love of orange came at a very young age, not being able to choose a favorite color so I had 2 growing up. Although its still in the line up for favorite colors, blue pretty much stole my heart for the number one spot. Orange will always be there for me, although always being obsessed with it, never can I find it. Im beginning to think that there's an orange drought.... well let me correct myself, there isssss orange out there, but I cant find anything worthy of the beautiful color orange, besides tacky club shirts, or the basic T... Can I pleeeeease get a pencil skirt, patent leather bag (thats not in the quadruple figures), long sweater, or at least a unique dress... alas. Nothing. Im beginning to think that only orange in my wardrobe is going to consist of my Kodak Digital Camera (which I do keep on me at all times) and my orange mesh tank... the label slips my mind at the moment - probably since I have YET to wear it. barg. for a spring 08 trend color, WHERE IN THE CRAP IS IT!? I am kind of going ballistic but have you seen it with nudes, greys, browns, black or white. Its pretty much the warm toned jewel in the warm color pallet, like purple is to the cools.
But lets not get confused now. Im not talking apricot or peach... toned down oranges, beautiful. But im looking for more of a balls out punch of orange, not quite neon... but pretty dang close.

Need some examples? try Spring/Summer 08 Favorites for love at first sight pieces of orange.... I wish I could afford right now.

But seriously how can one not be obsessed with this exotic citrus color, its almost memorizing. Although this is a color presented as a trend for spring 08, its much much more versatile than just a seasonal color, its a year round classic color that gets overlooked. - Yet if you get more into the peachy tones, yeah id lean more towards s/s season myself, but again... I want REAL bright orange.

First I was quite fearful of the pigment, we all think "I dont want to look like its halloween"... yeah Ive said that a few times, but it was more of a who gives a shit kinda attitude and just going for it, although orange is not often seen in fall/winter (besides halloween and thanksgiving to the American residents) I wish I could find some now, so I could layer and combine looks for the upcoming F/W season. There is only one collection so great, so edgy... I needed orange back in my life. Paulo Melim Andersson, although spending a short time at Chloe, being replaced by Hannah MacGibbon...He mastered the art of orange. Making every woman lust for it.

I need that bag, belt and everything from that collection (note the obsession on those mid-cafe black boots).... I guess ill just have to continue my mission... Perfect Orange I will find you!

One word will explain my absentee. Finals.

Yes... it is that time, next week is my last week of summer semester and I couldn't be more excited. Im just really busy with alot of things lately. Not only do I have school breathing down my back, sorority recruitment is coming up and I have some work to do, but its all in a days work. But although its tuesday its still early in the week to ask how everyones weekend was? Because not only did I have a great weekend, I have fell madly in love with an accessory I thought I wouldn't really become fond of. Then it happened. and now im screwed.

I have been on the mission for the perfect mens watch(because womans watches are never good enough): Not to flashy, elegant, classic, silver, big, and beautiful.

I fell in love with this, and 3 links later it was sitting pretty on my left wrist.

Beyond now my growing obsession for watches lately, and my love for Cassie - I have now grown fond and quite envious of her watch collection... next on the list... GOLD.

The last picture I had to post because that gold watch is going to haunt my dreams, with the already nightmares I have of never being able to own the $4,000 Balenciaga ankle boots, Im beginning to not care if I buy the Steve Madden or Bakers knock offs. . . Its getting to hard.

And after reviewing Cassie picture son thefashionspot.com, Im pretty sure ill be buying a 2 finger personalized ring, NO LC RING COPY here, that ones to skinny and frail... If your wondering what I am even talking about, hopefully I will have one in the near future♥.

I don't know if its almost the end of the semester for everyone, but I have two weeks left of summer semester and im pretty much dying. Granted my classes are not so bad, and I only go twice a week, they have really upped the mother load. But I am back and want to thank everyone on the lovely comments and hope everyones enjoying the bloggy, ive almost been around 2 whole months. But I am back to catch up and post sorry about the delay!

Being a receptionist is pretty chill and thats where I do the majority of my posts from, and get all my lovely pictures from aswell. Most bloggers have a boyfriend, I have my trusty desk. But besides that if im not blogging or shopping online I found the most amazing website for bored people like myself... www.hulu.com - They have TV episodes and online movies... Its pretty great. Just figured if some of you guys are as bored as I am usually, its quite the jackpot... and I am completely hooked on Temptation Island... im a nerd I get it.

What a title right? Yeah.... we will get to that later. Well to begin todays post ill start it off with a beauty portion, I dont do much beautification on a regular basis, I just tend to stick to the basics... maybe alittle something here and there but not to much unless its an event or something. So I made my little beauty board.

Although most of you are used to seeing curly hair, this is straight... and its a bit longer now.
But you get the Idea.

Tinted Moisturizer-
Clinique makes great ones I use City Block tinted moisturizer... Ive heard great things about Smashbox aswell.

Foundation-

Im not a big fan on liquid foundation because having oily skin such as myself it just can clog my pores and really be bad news for my skin, so I am a huge fan of Powder foundations...mainly Shiseido Sun Protection Compact Foundation in 34 SPF (beacause im totally anal about aging, and the effects of sun on my face) - Its really light and covers alot, but if you have a blemish or something you can usually just dot it on there and the apply the power foundation.

Bronzer and Highlighting-
I am a big fan of bronzer and blush but for me its blush in the winter and bronzer in the summer, but maybe a mix of both here and there but right now its bronzer. The best bronzer under the sun is NARS, seriously... im not even kidding, its the best. Trust me.
Now for highlighting I recommend two... Benefit makes a good liquid highlighter but again... liquid and that just creates oilier skin...
So 1. I recommend Sephora Brand Luminizing Trio (comes in two colors so pick and choose)
and 2. Mac Mineralize Skinfinish in Gold Mine... my favorite... but I think its limited so if you want it im pretty sure Ebay's your best bet. But I just dust it all over my cheekbones to emphasize it a tad. Great stuff everyone should own a highlighting product.

Mascara-
I have really long eyelashes to begin with so I don't like anything really chunky or heavy cause it just ends up getting into my eyes anyways. Im a huge fan of Maybelline Great Lash in Blackest Black its simple and gets the job done.
Does anyone use DIOR SHOW mascara, im tempted to try it but just curious how it goes on.

Lipgloss-
Im really picky about my gloss, as long as I have a nude tone or a pink tone in my purse everyday im set. These are my perfect lip gloss colors:
Perfect Pink- Clinique Glosswears in Kitten Pink
Perfect Nude- Rimmel in Eastend Snob
Perfect Nude/Pink combination- NARS in Turkish Delight.
Perfect Red- MAC Lipglass in Russian Red (same as the lipstick)

Perfume-
Usually the last thing I put on before im running out of the door...late. Everyone has there out signature fragrances but these are some that have been with me through the years.
Day - Dolce and Gabanna Light Blue (I first got this perfume about 5 years ago, and have been wearing it ever since- although kinda trendy... well more so than it was. Its an amazing smell very distinguishable.
Night- Dior's Miss Dior Cherie. The most elegant smell to me. Its utterly classic, although Chanel is probably the most popular classic fragrance, this is my Chanel.... and I am a Dior Whore anyways.

Nail Polish- Own one in everycolor (roygbv) red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet. and Black white gold and silver - and then your good. That would cover everything :) - I am a huge nail polish buff. And nail polish brands dont really matter so $1(wet and wild) - $17(chanel)... its your call.

Next order of business, My Ninewest Heathers came in this morning at work and they are so beautiful on! Yet since I am a scatter brain, I left my camera home sitting on the charger... and the curling iron on in my sink...STILL... im a tad bit nervous. ha ha.
Another lovely package came in the mail for me. . . The hunt is over, I now own the perfect fingerless gloves, and they really pull everything together, heres the outfit I paired them with, and the reason for the fabulous title:

The last one turned out really interesting with the lighting, but its pretty cool.

Happy Belated Birthday America
and Happy Canada Day - to my fellow Canadians out there, since im a knock off American!

How was everyones weekend?
I was gone extra long due to the fact that I had the 3rd, 4th and the weekend off. So I was in no school/no work bliss. I didnt do much outdoor shopping except for on Friday and I picked up the most amazing Karta dress from Nordstroms:

I was shopping with my sister Tuesday and saw it and tried it on, not thinking how much I really actually loved the dress, but thinking about how much money I should be saving... Yet I went back again with my friend Jake on Friday... and disregarded all those previous thoughts I had before. I bought the dress. Its really quite lovely on, ive really enjoyed the Karta line - this is my 2nd dress and they are dreamy.

In addition to the spending that I shouldnt have been accumulating I bought the nine west heels ive been lusting over for months now... and its not the heech, thank the lord. I bought the nine west Heathers shoe:

And on sale for $29.99 I didn't really have the heart to say no to my beloved.
P.s. - On that note Ninewest.com is having the best prices on there sale shoes, I highly recommend you find a beloved of your own&heart;

Now that we are on the shoe note, my strappy white gladiators came in this morning and I was ever so happy to squeeze my fat feet into them. Now I am just waiting for my fingerless gloves that should be arriving today, but here are my new shoes:

I dont know how many fans there are of colored denim, but if your not... just invest in one pair... I promise they are so fun and you will begin to grow fond. Although this trend has been going on for almost a year now who could honestly resist it. And its denim, like its really going out of style ever, might as well have fun with it in assorted colors.

You already pretty much know what im wearing today. I was feeling alitte punk-rockesquie yet the blue denim and pink studded belt reminded me of bubble gum for some odd reason. Never the less I was gonna rock out, but heres the complete minus the new shoes.

So im a slacker. Ill just come out and admit it right now! Its been since Wednesday and yeah I have had class and work but nothing serious, Ive just been involved with my boyfriends: Ebay and Red-Bull Vodka. But no worries Im back now with quite a few updates, so prepare yourself darlings, this is going to be quite the post. Shall we start from the beginning?

Thursday-
I really dont have much to say on the topic of: Just another boring day at work.
Besides the fact that I adore white nails.

Who are Karl Langerfeld fans? Well If you know him, and you love him you will pretty much understand my day in to day out mission for the perfect fingerless gloves. I have been looking for them endlessly for a long time subduing my crave for the black leather ones with a pair of gray lace ones but that didn't last long. I don't know what it is lately but Ive been seeing them everywhere and finally it drove me over the edge, the hunt was on. I found some great ones at Hot Topic in red, alas every single pair either had a stud missing or was torn - Beautiful pleather, not. Well finally I got an idea, ebay...duh....found em, bought them... on there way! Ill post pictures when they arrive- Heres just one reason why I adore fingerless gloves, and its not Blake Livly, but I might just have to buy them in white...or in any color for that matter.

In continuation of my weekend with one love in my life ebay, I made another purchase. I realize the gladiator craze is reaching all star limits in the shoe world, but as much as I am tempted to buy those darling wedges I just need to say no! Not only are they popping up everywhere on the internet, they are now making versions of it for Wetseal and Forever21. I am sorry but once it hits mass appeal on that level ill find some alternatives which I have.
We all are aware (I hope) that Balenciaga was knocked off when nine west created there beloved "heech" sandal, which is now being reproduced and knocked off again, well... Are you aware of the new version that they created of the Gladiator sandal?

This baby was the creation that spawned it all, although I cannot blame them this is quite the piece of art. I find this style with the studs my favorite and indeed on my list of HG (holy grail) shoes that hopefully I will acquire over my life time, Ill make a post about them soon.

Yet Balenciaga makes this Studded Gladiator in a flat version aswell that I feel gets over looked!

By the way, the studded version is so much more enjoyable. But then again I am obsessed with studs so of course I would think that.

Alas this is the "new" Gladiator shoe release by Balenciaga... all thats changed is the Wedge part, its now a heel... But different all the same, and if it wasn't for the color I probably wouldn't lust over these as much but they are wonderful so im pretty much screwed.

So getting back to the point of my not being able to purchase the wedge version, I looked to my beloved shopping problem to help me resort my needs and I came to finding a shoe. Its not a direct knock off, but when I see this shoe it reminds me of the new version. I could just be the heel, but its strappy none the less and I adore it. throw in some buckles criss cross some straps, and make it patent leather, then you would get my new beloved. So if you looked at the Balenciaga on drugs, you would get this.

Now for today, also the reasoning behind "Dirty girl" - Although you may not think so this morning I felt like just saying in bed. One of those days when you just roll out of bed and just could give a crap less what your hair looks like, that was my morning. But what I threw on this morning was Audrey-Grunge, Thursday's dress, oversized tee and threw on some knee highs for show just because I love them. The pearls just always remind me of Audrey, and when I was looking at the result it kinda reminded me of something from Breakfast at Tiffany's, but then again its probably just the pearls.

But before I show you the outfit, ill show you the bag. You all know you have a weakness for handbags, just go ahead and admit it. I have, and its the first step in recovery, yet we know thats not happening.

Pretty sure yesterday I slacked reallll hard. I was going to post, but my body decided to pass out after the Utah Bee's baseball game. So today because of game ill post both outfits.
Yesterdays outfit was a no brainer, literally... I like to call outfits such as this one: THE "IT" GIRL.
Why might you ask?.... Because our favorite IT girls rock the same look at least once or more. Mary-Kate, Ashley, Misha, Lindsay, LC, Hilary, Paris, Nicky, and Nicole, just to name a few, but this traditional outfit comes from what I like to think of as, "The night after look"... although this might not be the case every time, I'm sure it is at least once. Our rehab lovers, well majority of them even if we wouldn't like to admit, have made this look stick with me. Now for further explanation, this is the kind of outfit one wakes up to from after a crazy late night. It consists of the classic Fedora (1st addition, to hide last nights hair of course) or one of their favorite Scarves (1st, or a joined combination) paired with skinny's or a wide leg jeans with the classic white tee in "the tuck". (If you'd like a collage of this look, id be happy to make it for my fellow bloggers, but I just figure its just a used outfit you all will know what I'm talking about)

This outfit wins the award for effortless, morning after chic... and lets just say I sympathize with our fashion darlings about a late crazy night. The no brainier is a life saver.

Now in continuation... Even though I was at a Utah Bee's game. What better time to wear my team hat....GO JAYS!

Ten innings, and the apposing team was winning 5, 0... But we came back to tie it up 5 for 5, but it was the 10th inning and we just couldn't wait any longer to see who won, so we left. Its not like its a Jays game anyways....and on that note I think every woman should at least own one fitted hat, they are highly under-rated for women.

On todays outfit, do you ever have that one item in your closet you just love and could never be rid of but never really can pair it with much? This is the recipe for disaster with my favorite L.A.M.B shorts. They are completely darling and I love them to death, but the awkward shape of the shorts would lead to really interesting proportions. But alas finally a combination that offset the bulkiness of the shorts, hopefully.

The Tuck.

To tuck or not to tuck, that... is the question.

This spring and summer season as I become obsessed with the T-shirt all over again I have fallen in complete and utter love with the "tuck". Although I haven't been able to share this mutual love with you since I am a blog beginner, I thought what better time than another manic Monday! Ill show you my ensemble later in the post, but Id like to focus on my key inspiration of the "tuck". Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen... fashion Icons no doubt or just your occasional spoiled brats, but I find some liking in there wear from day to day. When Mary Kate doesn't wear the same shirt three days in a row, and Ashley actually does her hair, one can really pay attention, as did I when I fell in love with the tuck. For me my t-shirt faze is a small one, I tend to lean towards more professionally dressed at times instead of a plain t-shirt, yet this put me right back in check for the perfect balance of a casual look, but not toooo grungy (we cant really not have a bit of grunge). So once I saw the twins pull this look off time and time again, I wondered why I hadn't jumped on the bandwagon yet. So after I got over the self conscious factor I just did it, and we have lived happily ever after... except for the occasional hole in the shirt, then the tuck really pisses me off... ♥

CONGRATULATIONS BOSTON CELTICS!

Although they are no Utah Jazz, they aren't half bad. Plus anyone that defeats the Lakers by a long haul is ok in my book. Plus I have little girl crush on Ryan Allen and Rajon Rondo. Oh and congratulations to rookie Gabe Pruitt my personal Celtic and pal... first season in the NBA and he already has a championship under his belt. Sorry Lakers fans, you needed to loose this one... plus the Lakers are way to trendy they need to fade out, like the Yankees!

But now back to business...
This morning, I was extremely attracted to the grandma sweater, but it is to damn hot to wear a sweater and jeans... so L.Lohan bring on the tights, because after the butt rule, I could totally get used to this... Leggings as pants once again, for having such a neutral outfit I got quite a few stares today, and its bad when I actually notice... but then again... I live in Utah, can i blame them... everyones used to Abercrombie and Hollister... drives me mad.

On that note... I live above a mall... so I am quite aware of THE VS SEMI ANNUAL SALE. After yesterday and today I wont lie, im ridiculously broke. I have been trying to transform my undergarments closet as well, and it turned out quite successful. But now im quite broke... but this happens twice a year, a girl is totally allowed to splurge at least twice... and mama mia did I ever... Well ladies if you haven't gone in, go I love all the colors and fabrics that they don't carry regularly that they always sell at the sale!

Alright got alittle excited there, back to grandma sweaters.

In addition to my grandma sweater my MY NEW SHOES FINALLY CAME IN AS PREDICTED.
So for all you darlings that asked for modeling pictures, I just couldn't contain myself and wait so I just through them on with the same ensemble and the finish turned out better than expected.. the nude tones in the shoes really worked with my outfit. These shoes are going to be so easy to dress... since in some cases I find one thing and work the outfit around them... and I have a feeling it will be the shoes. (Also I did a zoom in picture of my right food so you could all see my tattoo that some of you have been asking about!)

Cruise Collection or is it Resort Collection? Personally cruise applies more to me in the event that me and my family usually cruise every year, but I can see how resort does apply. I just don't understand at the current time why people call it Resort, and some people call it Cruise.... Cant we all just get along and call it Vacation Collection, then it would target all of us travelers on cruises and at resorts (any opinions?). Besides my little self realization on the topic of the collections I spent all morning observing them. I found alot of great collections, and some gloomy ones. Don't get me wrong they are all really spectacular but some just use some really grim colors that I don't think most people would want to vacation in, more of a fall collection but some really great stuff. If you haven't looked at the resort/cruise collections yet, I really suggest you take a peek. If you to lazy like I usually am heres some of my favorite collections.

Helmut Lang: This is the kind of clothes that I could wear with anything, and when your cruising, or vacationing as you know. You want stuff that will go with anything, so you can change it up about 3 times a day. I personally cant get over those shoes, and in general would just love all of this in my closet for everyday.

Marc Jacobs: My second true love when I was introduced to the world of fashion (next to Dior) So I couldn't really ignore the fact that I absolutely love everything this man produces. Everything.

Bill Blass: Usually I am not so much of a Bill Blass fan, but this house can create the most amazing dresses and has such rich colors. Currently addicted to any kind of crazy bright pattern he had me quite excited, I am surprised we don't see much of this house on the red carpet. But someone get me that last dress, Its stunning.

Lanvin: The modern edge of elegance I think. Every collection is usually in my top 10 and the Lanvin line is always completely genius. I also loved that he actually used Jeans in the collection, finally realization that people do wear jeans, not just gowns everyday! Majority of people complain that to many people wear Lanvin, but just as the brand is projected to make a woman feel absolutely fabulous, thats why people are wearing the clothes, it makes them feel fabulous. I mean I know it would make me feel that why by just looking at it. And once again... these shoes are phenomenal, every season as well I just lust over his shoes.

Besides lusting over clothes I cant really afford until they pop up on Ebay ill continue. Also I am quite happy to inform that I purchased new shoes, and they should be in my hands tomorrow. I went behind your backs and bought a completely different shoe than the Aldo ones, It was just to hard to decide anyways so I went with these:

And as for today, my theme is "Go Max or Go home" Im breaking my maxi dress out for the beautiful weather that this side of the USA has been soaking up. The leggings / tights as pants phenomena has become quite the latest buzz in the fashion world, but lets be honest... they have been around from quite some time. Although I must admit I love leggings and tights from time to time they just need to be worn appropriately. (Nylon's image is a great example of ways not to wear them!). So Before I completely disregard tights as pants, I had to figure this phenomena for itself. Truth is I have a few rules before accomplishing the “tights as pants” look. First I shall never pull a Siena, Lohan, or Britney and wear a short shirt with just tights… its gotta at least be tunic length… So in which with the appropriate length one can pull off such a look and with the right tights... as such I find it to be very well done.

Work is boring, so its left me no choice but to watch all 56 collections from F/W08 on Style.com. I know I am slacking in that department, we are already on Cruise collection! I am on 30/56 so ill be done soon and on to the next, but is it just me or are we going extra fast through each collection... what happened to every 6 months (except for Couture and Cruise collections). If only I could afford everything I lust over each season. Yet I am a college student and have to be thrifty and extremely Ebay aware, but us fashionistas make it on a budget... we just buy the really really good stuff... :)

Yes... I am alittle late on seeing the epic movie Sex and the City. Yet along with all the serious SATC fans I to became smitten with the film... so much that I went and saw it by myself. Everyone said... awe why did you go by yourself? The answer: 1. Everyone who was supposed to go with me already went. 2. and the people that could have gone with me were way to late. And it was quite relaxing, I highly recommend taking yourself to a matinée. But overall out of 5 stars I rated it a 10. Go see it... seriously.

Clutch.
This image perfectly captures the essence of the word. (But I wouldnt let that Fendi go either...)
Since my recent purchase of a woven leather clutch, I have been quite obsessed. I really don't understand the recent love I have encountered but I never used to see it quite like a see it now. They are always on the agenda for a formal or cocktail event, but for daily life I never used to be intrigued. The thought of loosing my bag and all the contents in it was a chance I wasn't willing to make on a causal day. Although now with my love resting on my legs I don't think one would leave such a piece unattended without a careful eye. During a casual outing yesterday I decided to give the new bag a try, shoved all my shit in it for a short trip to pick up some movies and I was on my way. Though walking down the hall way I was transformed, I suddenly felt so completely elegant in my tee-shirt and jeans prancing down the hallway with a weightless shoulder. This clutch in my right hand was the culprit. Seriously though it probably sounds quite silly but without the look of a handbag on my shoulder weighing me down I simply feel timeless while I used my clutch. It seems to draw more attention to the creation of clothes Ive put together for that day and simply be a statement piece in its simplicity.
If your not a clutch fan, seriously... your missing out.
Your mission if you choose it - buy a clutch. Its a necessity in the closet anyways.

I think so... I to sit amongst my fellow fashionistas and gaze at the ridiculously marvelous creations of Nicolas Ghesquiere for Balenciaga. Yet although some of us may have the pocket change to burn up...I really couldn't afford to spend what would be the majority of my monthly budget, I actually have to pay for rent. So while I drool over a top 10 dream shoe, a pretty wonderful replica began to arise... and then on the feet of every possible fashion obsessie. So for the past couple of months ive been in quite the debate: This shoe although a beautiful piece of art is a huge trend, BUT since I live in SLC-Nowhere, I haven't seen them on the likes of one person here. So would you buy the shoe...cause I think I will. (opinions?)

After an intense night of beer pong and getting home at around 3:30, I was woken up at 5:30 to attend a Nike shoe sale at the local Utah store Technique. Once a year they have a sale on all their Nike's and a few of my guy friends were not going to miss it, and since I was awake neither was I. My thoughts on sneakers is pretty slim, I don't really like them, I never wear them, and I think they are usually ugly and have wayyy to much going on. Well due to the fact that I have friends that are avid sneaker buffs I now like the Nike SB Dunks and purchased 2 pairs Saturday morning. Being the heel freak that I am its good to have a break from time to time, and i highly recommend it. Day in the life, weekend style-

This weekend, random yet a really good time.
Friday was pretty damn interesting, went to my friend Amelya's for her boyfriend Cameron's graduation bbq in Emigration Canyon, which turned into HUGE burgers, bitch beer, Celtics game, guitar hero and like 20ish rounds of beer pong. Average day in Utah right, actually yes ha ha. "teal cup rules"

In continuation of this may/june weekend, I attended the LPD Gallery showing, and to my surprise the art work was fantastic. I have my eye on one piece that I am thinking about investing in for my own personal collection... that Ive been wanting to begin for a while now... but investing in art compared to the usual amounts spent on the wardrobe, its hard to use it on interior decorating. The local work here in Utah is amazing so I am extremely tempted to buy one of the artist's pieces. The gallery/boutique opened for the showing at 7, and I arrived at around 8:15... quite a few people for how small the actual shop is but the work was impressive, the music odd. I was shocked that only one painting had been purchased. The gallery is open until the end of June when they will be replacing the work with a new artist. There is a Gallery showing at the Lucky Pirate Denim Bar this Saturday, personally I would love to go seeing as how I haven't been to one yet, and I am kinda slacking in that department. If I can make it Saturday though, ill be there, but here are the details:

This Saturday evening, May 31st, from 7 pm to 10 pm we will be hosting a reception for artist Hilary Wilkinson Howell. Her work will be on display through the month of June.
Everyone is invited to attend!
